Show of support for murder suspect; Family, friends of Christopher Porco ask judge to set low bail; prosecutors may divulge evidence today.(Main)

ALBANY - Joan Porco and her eldest son, Johnathan, are expected to appear in an Albany County courtroom today to push to have Christopher Porco released on bail while he's awaiting trial on charges he attacked his parents with an ax, killing his father, in their Delmar home last year.

Christopher Porco's mother and brother are among more than a dozen friends and relatives who wrote letters of support that were attached to an impassioned bail motion filed Tuesday - the first anniversary of the attacks - by his defense attorney, Terence L. Kindlon.

"There is no credible evidence connecting Christopher to his father's homicide or his mother's assault because Christopher is innocent," the motion states. "In fact, the only thing that connects Christopher to his father's homicide and his mother's assault is the malignant imagination of a few police officers."
